It's almost the New Year all. Thanks for following me for so long as I continue to get my life stabilized and all. I won't make any promises of any projects but hopefully I can continue to draw and entertain you all.

Playboy Bunny Girl -01 by Selecthumor
I drew this at a Playboy-themed Society of Illustrator sketch night hosted earlier in the year. I would have liked to think that you would have liked it.

Hey all. It's been a while. Thanks for being so patient.
As one may see, I am slowly drawing and uploading agian onto dA. Mostly been working on my career as a social worker these last few years. Fortunately, it paid off as literally as of today I passed my Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) exam and am a bona fide LMSW now!
I hope to be able to work on some sort of project again in the not too distant future. However, thank you all for your support in both my art career and in my social work career. I hope to make you all proud!

Hey all.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I was in Europe for two weeks and had only the time to come back and thank you all today. I hope to keep drawing and being creative, although no set projects yet. There is a biography I hope to write about Power Girl, and I hope to link it for you all to see and post the "cover pages" if I draw them
Thanks everyone for being so awesome!

Hey all, Sorry if I haven't been writing as much lately, though I try to post art as much as I can. I have been busy going to the Society of Illustrators since my school year at grad school ended and practicing figure drawing. I will aim to get stories done in the near future once I feel like I got a hang of drawing again to the same degree that I did before.

ON BIRTHDAYS
Today is my birthday. Hooray! I am 25 now on the 25th of May. Incidentally, I like to think that 25 is my lucky number. It's a funny feeling, but getting older today ain't that bad. I hope to find time to see friends on the weekends and my sister as well, as of course a lot of people are busy during the weekdays with work and all. THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY WISHES! :D

On DC REBIRTH #1 (spoiler free)
I am honestly a DC Comics fan at heart. The legacy, the stories, the growth and relationships of characters: this is what I looked up to in reading Pre-Flashpoint comics. Such stories were beautifully handled with Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle, Power Girl, The Justice Society of America, Zatanna, and many other titles that while had previous stories were not bogged down by continuity. However, post-Flashpoint it felt like a lot of the elements that I loved of characters were gone. Karen Starr Power Girl was no longer the seasoned veteran heroine that got me into superhero comics. The Justice Society became a parody of itself in "The Society" with "Wonders" acting more like 90's characters than the Justice Society. The legacy of characters were gone and heroes were making stupid mistakes and fighting with one another all the time. I honestly stopped buying comics regularly because of these changes. Besides Multiversity, I can't say that I really enjoyed that many things that came out of the New 52 that stuck from beginning to end.

I am not saying that these issues were COMPLETELY solved in one issue nor can I forsee what will come of Rebirth. However, I felt after reading this issue something I haven't felt for superhero comics in a very, very long time: hope. Hope that legacies will return and memories restored of previous relationships, even if it is in new bodies. Hope that the masked heroes of WWII will be back in vogue as a Society heroes can look up to. Hope that once again an orphaned child, trusted with a magic word by a Wizard, can instill goodness in others. Hope that a certain blonde CEO of a tech company can kick ass and take names again as a daughter of a Krypton now more distant than ever before. I won't say Rebirth is for everyone and of course it demonizes the state of comics now with what happened in the New 52 and our cynical views of deconstructing comics. However, I recommend it and I hope that, in a Flash, DC heroes would bring something enjoyable for veteran fans and newer readers to enjoy.

9/10

PS: I totally have a theory that pre-Flashpoint "Classic" Power Girl is still around. From Thy Kingdom Come we learn that there are two Power Girls: the one we know since the beginning and "Jerk" Power Girl from an Earth-Two-B. Earth-Two-B existed for some reason, but had its own Power Girl and Superman the latter of which went missing for some reason. My head canon is that when the Multiverse was forced to reset itself, Earth-Two-B was anchored in as Earth-2 and that Power Girl the one that we see in the New52 line up. Our Karen is still out there on adventures like "Clark White" Superman but was losing her memories with time, hence the Power Girl and Harley Quinn (Connor) crossover shennanigans.

I would like to think that Rebirth would give us a shot in getting "Classic" Karen back.
